Tape your paper image on a window or patio door.
First, I copied the clipart to an MS Word document. Within the document, I just grabbed the corner of the image and stretched the image large enough to fit nicely on my placemat. After printing, I cut away the excess paper and taped it on my patio door.
While properly positioning over the clipart, tape the placemat to the window. Trace lightly with pencil around the words.
Trace very lightly. This might be a little darker than it needs to be.
Free Motion stitch following your pencil lines.
And Voila - Here is the finished place mat. Thanks for the fabulous suggestion Lee. I might make another version of "Bon Appétit" next week as well. Different stitching, of course.

Hey, Gail - it looks great! You'll have to bring it for a show and tell.
You are so clever. This is absolutely delightful Gail:)

Lovely Gail! Our placemat "pile" is growing....
Oh my gosh! This placemat is so gorgeous!A perfect project to lighten up the house just in time for Spring! I think that I will try something similar using greens, blues, and maybe some rosy pinks!
that is so absolutely cool. You are amazing
Wonderful Gail! Glad that I didn't get one done as it would have paled compared to yours. Linda G
