While I was in South Carolina, I happened to see a really different and unique small project. It's a Spiral table runner. I had a hard time to find the Spicy Spiral pattern to buy, but asking around, and ardent googling gave me some leads and I ultimately found it online. I ordered it, and it came by mail earlier this week.
I also borrowed the 9 degree wedge ruler from my friend Lois, and I read the spicy directions front to back and back to front. There's a lot of numbers, fractions, and special little steps, so I'm being careful. Yesterday, I pulled 8 fabrics from my stash. Reds, creams, a light green and some blacks.
I have the first couple of steps done, which is cutting 4 strips of various widths of each of the 8 fabrics. Then sewing 4 sets of strata using the 8 strips.
Tomorrow I'll move on to the next step.
Post Note: If you are looking where to buy the pattern and the 10 degree wedge ruler, they are both available here at Phillips Fibre Art..

Oh, you are a brave one. Definitely want to see the progress of this...
So glad you enjoyed my pattern. I have no web site. Phillips fiber art carries the pattern.
So glad you are enjoying my pattern latpatt@aol.com
Glad you are enjoying my pattern. It is easiest if you use the pillow case type of backing and no binding. Enjoy
Thank you for mentioning where you bought the Spicy Spiral table runner pattern from, my shop in Minnesota. www.callalilyquiltshop.biz I have made 4 myself, so far. It is great fun, fast, easy and forgiving. The ruler does the work and the pattern tells you how, just follow step by step and you'll do great! I sell the 9 degree ruler too, Kathy
I have brought the spiral pattern from the online site mentioned here and read it and read it and read it.
Now I am ready for the ruler.
Did you ever finish the runner? I would love to see it. I just found your post and ordered the ruler and the pattern from Phillips.
Thanks again,
Linda
I purchased the Spicy Spiral Table Runner pattern. I would like to make it with the 10" wedge ruler. Do I purchase the mini wedge or the regular? Do I need to purchase the extension? Is more fabric required when using the 10" wedge? Kindly, CRC.
Not that I expect a reply, this thread was started so long ago.... but, is there anywhere to buy the pattern online where you can download it?
I live in Australia and think the postage that some quilt shops charge to send a few bits of paper is ridiculous!
You can get the Spicy Spiral Table Runner pattern from Kerry Glen www.tulis.co.nz
She carries the pattern for me in New Zealand and Australia

I am trying to obtain a pattern for the Spicy Spiral table runner but only seem to be available in the USA does anyone know where I can purchase the pattern in the UK. I am desperate to get started!!
I am sure that Phillips Fiber Art can ship to the UK
no one seems to have the pattern any longer (I am a few years behind on making this) I think I am figuring out by pictures but now that I need to start cutting out my wedges I am scared. It looks like I need 25 wedges for each spiral starting at 20 inches long down to 1 inch by 2/4 inch increments. Is that true? Help
Www.phillipsfiberart.com has the pattern and ruler. Where are you located? Numerous shops carry the pattern. There may be one near you. Patty
