Whew a busy week flew by. But because of some cloudy and cool days, I got my 10 scrappy flag blocks done for my sister's Canada Day quilt. This coming week, I'll sew the ten blocks together and prepare the backing. I do intend to layer and pin baste this week too.
And I'm so pleased that I've finally got a start on my embroidery project. I started with one of the larger blocks. I thought I would hand stitch in the evening, but it turns out that the daylight is just too nice not to use for stitching.
A week of good weather coming up here in central Florida.
Stay warm where ever you are!!

They have turned out quite nicely.
Love how your Canada quilt is coming along. I bought the pattern last year and I hope to get working on it to have it in time for July 1 this year.
Nice stitching. Glad you are starting on a large block. I did Winter Wonderland and finished the smaller blocks first. Big mistake. From now on I am tackeling the larger ones first.
I love your Canada quilt. What lovely bright colors.
What is the name of the embrodery pattern. I need a blue one for January. I also like the Candian quilt. I have a sister-in-law from Canada that I could do this for. PattiO
Hi there QuilterPattiO....The name of the embroidery pattern is Snowmen from A to Zzz by Crab Apple Hill designs. This is my first block of the whole set... It's a large project. The Canada flag quilt is by Cheryl Arkinson. if you google her, you will find her website. It's a fun easy pattern..
Enjoy!!
I love the quilt.. the colours are awesome. This quilt will be so sweet in my little boler.
I just traced the Elf block. I will do all the large ones first, on your advice. The little blocks looks so EASY!! I can't wait to do those!
Such happy colorful fabrics
Several years ago one of guild members made a large quilt similar to the one you are making. Her flags were smaller and a rainbow of colours. It started when some commented on our flag and "does it come in other colours?" I've thought about making a smaller version and seeing yours I just may make one for Canada day this year.
