Dark Chocolate - Piecing is finished

This little Dark Chocolate Beauty is all pieced. I should have called this the 15 minute Beauty. It was done in 15 minutes. 15 minute chunks of time that is. We've been busy doing stuff all week, so when I had 15 minutes, I'd cut, or sew, or pick off paper, or pin again. The final 15 minutes was to sew the wedges together.

The coloring is very similar to the one I did this winter with the black background . It does have dark dark brown background behind the points, and the brown is accented by batiks that have quite a bit of green accent in it. Next week when I machine quilt this Dark Chocolate Beauty, I think I'll use the same quilting on the points as the black one, but there will be lots of free motion feathers in the center of this Dark Chocolate.

This truly is a fun little pattern, even though, I don't care for paper piecing. But paper piecing in this pattern is absolutely the appropriate technique for making perfect points.
This Beauty is made from one of Karen's patterns called Maritime Beauty and can be purchased here.

It's beautiful! I always use that 15 minute technique when I'm at a part I don't like. Like now, I'm assembling the drunkard's path top and just working in short 15 minute bursts. Before I know it, the top will be done.

Wow on posting the finished Dark Chocolate Beauty so promptly. It is striking and the contrast is sharp. Your 15 minute working times is a neat idea. Think I'll try it. Maybe that way I can actually get something finished. Lucy

Oohhhh - love the colours and fabrics you've chosen, Gail. Perhaps Caitlin would have some quilting suggestions for you.
